What are we really doing here?

Process: I’ve been continuing to read up on Mandelbrot’s writing. Im super facinated by the prolific contributions fractal geometry has made to our understanding of natural phenomena. This drawing was more exploration into incorporating the themes into my designs. This drawing is inspired by Koch Curves, Brownian Motion, and Recursive Patterns.

I started out with a rough pencil sketch, mostly to block in the major shapes. I didnt do any real planning for the values, because honestly I hate that step (Feel free to slap me on the wrist). I jumped into the inking part because I just wanted to practice my stippling and hatching.

While I was working on this one, I was thinking that there must be a better way to get all the little dots to be more evenly uninformed. It seems like the distribution of the dots is really hard to manage with my current strategy. If you have any advice, please lemme know.
