In episode two of The Future of Fashion podcast, Americas editor Hilary Milnes speaks to the luxury e-commerce platform’s founder and CEO José Neves about how customer behaviour has changed over the course of the pandemic, the newfound urgency for luxury brands to move online as Covid-19 has accelerated digital sales and the need for more diversity across the fashion industry.
Neves, who prior to founding Farfetch was a designer and boutique owner, says that increasingly, luxury’s chief executives are coming around to the idea that they need to be where the customer is, and more and more, that’s online. Farfetch’s goal is to help designer brands, both small and large, access the emerging luxury shopper and find their way forward in a system that has broken down. He sees the pandemic as the time to rebuild.
